武汉钢铁（集团）公司是新中国成立后兴建的第一个特大型钢铁联合企业，1958年9月13日建成投产，六十多年来为我国钢铁工业和国民经济发展作出重要贡献。2016年宝钢与武钢联合重组为中国宝武。原武钢集团改制为中国宝武全资子公司，更名为武钢集团有限公司；原上市主体武钢股份经换股吸收合并，成为宝钢股份全资子公司，更名为武汉钢铁有限公司，作为中国宝武钢铁基地之一。
